Worried about confirming your removal date?
At BEST Removals & Storage Ltd, we understand that moving doesn’t always go to plan. Waiting on solicitors, estate agents, or other parties can make it hard to confirm a move date in advance. That’s why we offer our Postponement / Cancellation Waiver – to give you flexibility and peace of mind.
Moving is a significant investment. Depending on the type of removal and services you require, it can cost anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand pounds. Once you book and pay, you want to ensure your money and booking date is safe.
How does the waiver work?
You may have a provisional moving date but no 100% confirmation. By adding the Postponement / Cancellation Waiver to your booking:
You can secure your date in advance without worrying about penalties.
You are entitled to cancel or postpone once with no fees, provided you notify us at least 1 working day before the move.
If your date changes, you only lose the fee for the waiver itself.
Simply select the waiver on your removal quote and pay it alongside your other booked services.
What happens if I don’t have the waiver?
Without the waiver, standard postponement/cancellation fees apply. These are applied at our discretion:
More than 10 working days before the move: No charge
5–10 working days before the move: Up to 25% of the removal charge
Less than 5 working days: Up to 50% of the removal charge
Within 48 hours of the move: Up to 100% of the removal charge
If we cancel your move, you will receive a full refund. On the day of the move, we will refund all monies plus 20% of the quoted cost.
Why we offer this waiver
Professional removals are carefully planned. Once you book a move, we reserve resources:
Staff, drivers, and trucks
Packing materials and services
Parking arrangements and permissions
Cancelling at short notice can leave these resources unused, which is why costs may apply without the waiver. During busy periods, popular dates (especially Fridays) can book weeks in advance. The waiver lets you secure your date with confidence.
How to add it
The waiver will appear as an option on your individual removal quote. Simply tick it along with the other services you require, and it will be confirmed when you make payment.
