Book Your Live Virtual Survey via Video Call
Arrange a live video call with one of our experienced surveyors and simply walk them around your home using your phone or tablet camera – much like a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call. More details, handy instructions and tips are under the form.
Your surveyor can see your belongings, discuss your requirements and answer any questions you have, all while completing the survey remotely.
It’s a quick and convenient way to complete your survey without waiting for a home visit, and is suitable for everything from straightforward house moves to larger or more complex removals and packing services.
You’ll still speak directly with your surveyor, so you can talk through your move and make sure we have all the information we need to provide an accurate quote.
Full instructions are provided when you book your video survey below.
Handy Instructions for the Video Call
• Hold your phone upright (portrait) and walk slowly
• Point at every item you want moved, one room at a time
• Keep the camera steady — pause for 2 seconds on big items or items you want to be dismantled and rebuilt
• Open cupboards, wardrobes and the loft hatch if they’re coming too
• Film in daylight or turn the lights on — dark rooms hide items
What to show the surveyor
• Every room with things to move
• Large or heavy furniture (sofas, beds, wardrobes, appliances)
• Hallways, stairs and any tight doorways
• Garage, shed, garden and outdoor items
Talk while you film
• Say the room name as you enter (“this is the kitchen”)
• Call out anything staying behind (“the fridge stays”)
• Mention fragile or awkward items (piano, safe, artwork) and anything you need special care or dismantling/rebuilding
Tips for the best quote
• Narrate the video as you go and try not to repeat as things may get counted twice.
Have lofts, sheds and garages open for ease of showing the surveyor and seeing on video.
Tell us clearly any items that are staying or that you need special care or dismantling and rebuilding.
